In this province (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) are four newspapers. Earlier this weekend (Oct. 24) week was a demonstration in the city of Santa Cruz, on which three of the newspapers agreed in their headlines: more than 4,000 people are gathering to protest against the development. In the third, the importance of the march was reduced by many thousands of attendees. What happens? Is it important, beneficial or cyclical mistake to take this anvil on which the batter? For what purpose? Do I have to overrule the voice of thousands of people for many still believe that the developmental system installed since the sixties is still suitable for the Canaries? It seems so.

This event last week is not orchestrated by any political party, the make, mostly neighborhood assemblies (more or less politicized, but residents at the end). On the contrary, it could ensure that demagoguery is to say that those who demonstrate should offer solutions. This is laughable: those who take to the streets, tired of all this, have not been elected by anyone, and in most cases are not qualified to offer anything less would fail. But, as citizens, hold all right, and duty, to question what they perceive they hurt. And the lack of soil, trees, coast, with everything that entails, it hurts. We need to strengthen the field again, we need to reduce pollution, more trees are planted, you have fewer cars, that life is more livable Islands. And that, in addition, accurate solutions are needed, sustainable, friendly, there are, certainly exist. We need politicians who seek them and put them into practice. Policy and mediocrity and learned discourses. To be put to work, and do not put the blame on immigration, which is fine.
