How Long Does It Take For A Hematoma To Go

Quo vadis, University ?

For Pilar Rahola, 13/04/2011 What

happens to our universities? You still are the temple of intelligence, or have become a conspicuous stronghold of the stupidity shown? And pardon the oxymoron of course these two nouns, but we know since the world began to have a university degree and have read four books, does not mean a well-furnished head. Quite the contrary, history is full of great scholars who have built buildings intellectuals who fell with the motion of a simple card.

This is not an article of history, but a brief review of some great names, whose intellectual status prevented them from having a low ideological category (and even moral), the list is scary. Nobel laureates who have defended the brutal dictators of the left, opinion leaders two days ago gave a hand to Gadaffi, leaders who were walking by Iran as if the heaven of freedom, and the road of confusion of concepts, intellectuals, journalists, writers, politicians and the left quantti tutti more loud clapping the follies of Chávez. Many of them, people from college, whose readings have been used to clear thinking.

What happens to the left? And therefore, what happens to the left entrenched in the university pulpit, which has become obsolete ideas guru, whose revolutionary romanticism is as kitsch as irresponsible?

Teachers, professors, student leaders pollute young minds eager for romantic ideas. Of course the University should be the natural territory of critical thinking. And of course you must walk vis a vis the ideas of progress. But not talking about critical thinking, or progress. On the contrary, I speak of wolves that sell dogmatic reactionary ideas disguised as progressive lambs. I speak of reverse thinking of the loony left, that left one day have to answer to history for having betrayed the values \u200b\u200bof freedom.

The article is, of course, the latest example of this reversal of values: the award the University Recently awarded a Silver Hugo Chávez. According to the verdict, Chavez award for his advocacy for freedom of expression, and in the news, you never know if it's a joke in the style of Hitchcock was spending with the invasion of the Martians, if they took a Drinking and the verdict was the end of the party or if they like to tease the staff because they are bored in the classroom. Freedom of Expression Award this Autarch has closed media persecutes dissidents, opponents and journalists, who have perverted the democratic rules and aims to be the little Napoleon of Latin America! How can so blithely betraying the basic definition the word "freedom"?

can, and there is the University of La Plata to prove it. I suggest to continue the joke, that next year will give the same award to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It is a good friend of Chávez.

The question, however, is no longer a joke when the amazing story of this award becomes more of a way of doing and thinking that on behalf of freedom, progress and revolution, lies a large building of totalitarian thinking. Let's be clear. The extreme left is to freedom as well as the extreme right: the enemy. And the difference between military in a group of skinheads in the brain filled with emptiness, intolerant, and do in a left-wing group full of dogmas of faith to justify atrocities, abuses and dictatorship is the same difference between an apple and an apple, which in my language, Catalan, means an apple that is, no.

may have to start speaking out. Not all that talk about freedom, love freedom, and all who set themselves up as community leaders have ethics, and all politicians who claim to defend the people, are unreliable.

Unlike the right, which is stigmatized when you step on the territories of extremism and evil becomes a monster, the left has much more impunity and through and trampling the delicate border of securities without send anyone to hell. Even today the great dictators of the left are revered in the posters of our young people through the good work of the revolutionaries of yesteryear obsolete. Whose atrocities, of course, corpses planted land in the world. Or just killed by Pinochet and Videla? Do you not killed by Castro and Stalin? Or heroes were the guys who took a gun, walked down a street in Buenos Aires and shoot the first police were poor, perhaps a young immigrant poor land, with a salary of a fear of anything and everything, and kill him on behalf of their cause imposed on fire? Sorry

insolence but between a dictator and a terrorist can not find Another difference that own both sides of the coin. We learned long ago in Spain, ETA. But in Argentina it is strange to say, because you have not done their homework with the tragic memory of terrorism. Only cry on the side of victims. The others, unfortunately, are none, neglected and forgotten. As if those who took guns, killing people and wanted to impose a communist dictatorship, they were liberators. As if the victims were guilty of his murder. What investment securities, kill with impunity in the name of freedom of the people! That

speak, thereof, of a civilization based on the Charter of Human Rights and that if has been violated and trampled in the name of fascism, so too has been on behalf of the reactionary left. Hence the award of the University of La Plata is more tragic than comic. And not because it causes a cosmic hilarity, but because it is the tip of the iceberg of reverse thinking. That it claims to defend the progress and endorse the worst left-wing reactionaries. That it claims to defend free opinion, and rewards imposed dogmas, slogans and thinking. That he claims to love freedom, and betrays with diurnidad and treachery. Quo vadis, university? Whither do not know, but certainly not circulate often, or on the road of moral commitment, not on the path of intelligence.

Pilar Rahola, the author, was awarded the Human Rights, 2011 UN Watch
