The exclusion of Community Councils as a policy status. REC Bulletin Year 1, Issue 2


The National Government been implementing a plan of gradual exclusion in all spheres of public life in Venezuela.

At the level of participation citizen, the Executive, through the last modified AN Communities Act, transforming it from an instrument promoting public participation in a broad and diverse, a mechanism of exclusion that marginalizes anyone individual or community that does not manifest public defender and preacher of socialism.

The latest amendment of the Act provides that these must be declared promoters of socialism. Moreover, the Communal Councils, to gain legitimacy, must be registered with FUNDACOMUNAL, body under the Ministry of People's Power of Citizen Participation, however, this entity has been standing in the way to record those Communal Councils that "smell like skinny." The final result of this policy: large parts of the country politically and economically excluded.

For this reason, a group of citizens of the country's different communities have had trouble registering their communal councils have been organized under the auspices of Rep. William Ojeda, to create the National Front Excluding Community Councils, which was officially released on March 26 in the assembly of citizens held at the Plaza Brion in ChacaĆ­to.

It is noteworthy that the communal councils that have come to the front, there are some government supporters, who have been excluded product of the struggle between different factions vie for dominance.

Everyone, regardless of political affiliation, are invited to bring their case to the front, there are willing to work for everyone's right.
